Registrar Of Titles

The Office of the Registrar of Titles major function is to administer and provide reliable and accurate land information in Papua New Guinea. It also effectively and efficiently supports services that facilitate an orderly process for land transactions. Further, the office ensures that land rights are guaranteed and titles registered and issued are indefeasible.

The office of the Registrar of Titles is established under the Land Registration Act 1981, (Chapter 191) The office is managed by the Registrar of Titles, who is the director of the division together with three Deputy Registrar of Titles and other support staff.

The office of the Registrar of provides the following services:

1. REGISTRATIONS:
This office intends to provide a quality title registration service that supports the business objectives of the Department of Lands and Physical Planning and the private enterprises. The registration services include;

a) Conveyancing

b) Freehold Title Registration

c) State Lease

2. TITLE SEARCH:

A title search reveals the ownership of the property including the covenants of that property plus any encumbrances on it and other revelant information.
