Rating and Taxing Valuation
Rating & Taxing Valuation is a statutory valuation. Statutory valuation is the periodic review of the unimproved value of all government land within PNG for rating & taxing purposes.
Unimproved Value
An unimproved value in relation to land means the capital sum of the fee simple of the land that might be expected to realize if offered for sale on such reasonable terms & conditions as bona fide improvements on the land, (if any) other than ground improvements, did not exist at the date to which valuation relates, less the Ground Improvements Allowances (if any) applicable to the land.
Commission /Council Rates
The calculation of rates is the responsibility of each Town Council/Authority, Local Level Government or Provincial Assembly. The setting of differential rating is at the discretion of these authorities.
Contact the Valuer General's Office and we will be pleased to provide further information concerning your valuation.
