Property Information

The provision of property information relates to Government, the private sector, internal customers and wider community. The outcome is that Officials Valuers have access to state wide property valuation data and sale information which enables them to be better informed on property matters.

At present,property database and property sales information can only be made available to Valuers.

1. Property Research
The Valuer General or and Official Valuer to carry out research effectively and effeicient is required under the Valuation act.
Specififc Under Section 82(1) of the exercise and performance of his powers & functions ,the Valuer General or an Official Valuer may;
1.1 Entry and inspect
(a) any land, building farmland plantation, vessel or aircraft, etc
(b) examine and take note copies of any books, papers, records or other wrtings that in his opinion may assist him in the exercise and performance of those powers and functions

Specififc Under Section 83(1) & (2) of the exercise and performance his powers & functions ,the Valuer General or an Official Valuer may

1.2 Requirement of information and production of documents
(1) Under this part a written notice or letter is required for a individual, compay or an organisation

(a) to give such information as is within that person's knowledge
(b) to produce such books, papers, records or other writings as are in that person's possession or control relating to the matter specificed in the notice or letter

(2) A perosn who without reasonable excuse, refuses or fails to give any inforamtion or produce any books, papers, records or other writings as requires is guilty of an offence.

The outcome is that the Office of the Valuer General and the public benefit from the introduction of new services, cost reductions, improved work methods and quality valuation standards.
