Survey Coordination

The Survey coordination serves to provide cleints with appropiate geographic information for the coordination of surveys.This section is headed by the Assistant Surveyor General (Survey Coordination) who reports directly to the Surveyor General.

The Office deals with;

Survey Coordination of PNG

This service provides all the survey control network in the country under the primary network. Most towns under Teritary Adjustments are connected to the primary network.The Coordination is in first order survey and considered to be of high accuracy. To obtain this information contact Geodetic section of the Surveyor General's Office.

PSM Noting Map : (hard copy only)

PSM Noting Maps are Sheets of maps that show the locality of Permanent Survey Marks (PSMs) around PNG. Surveyors and Engineers require this information to help them carry out or plan surveys, or design work.

The PSM Notting Maps are not available on the site but can be printed for you at the National Mapping Bureau for a Fee of K5.00 per sheet on A2 size sheet.

Permanent Marks Standard System (PNG 94 Coordinate System)

The Permanent Survey Marks are in PNG 94 Coordinate System used for Surveys. To download the PNG 94 Coordinates you must have access to Acrobat reader to be able to read the coordinates.Other Survey Marks that are not listed can be obtained from the Geodetic Section. The Sketches for PSMs are available at a reasonable price.

Survey Network (PNG 94 Coordinates)

PNG 94 Coordinates is a set of survey coordinates used for determining Survey Datums. Surveyors,Land Users,Engineers,Builders and Scientists use these Coordinates to help them establish their position anywhere in PNG.

The information can be made available to you at the National Mapping Bureau located at the Waigani Offices.
