The Office of the Registrar of Titles Searching Support Services provides all customers/clients with access to land status and ownership information. Electronic information options have been developed to meet cliental needs and are continually evolving for the rapidly changing environment.
A search request form must be executed in order for a search to be conducted. Down load or print a request form now by clicking search form.
Title Search
This basic title search is most commonly made for conveyancing purposes. The search information will include;
- a description of the land (Allotment/Portion, Section/Milinch and Town/Fourmil information);
- names of current owners;
- the legal arrangement of holding (eg. as joint tenants or tenants in common);
- any encumbrances or caveats that apply to the land; and
- notes about any unregistered dealings etc, awaiting registration on the title and/or previous dealings' registered notes .
How to do a Search
There are 2 ways to do a search:
Option 1: Over the counter
Option 2: Staff assisted search
Option 1: Over the counter
Request a title search over the counter at our Waigani (Port Moresby) office by filling out a search form.
Turnaround time: 
It will take approximately 30 minutes. 
Cost: K50.00 per file
Payment options: 
Cash or bank cheque
Option 2: Staff assisted search
This option is mainly for clients who are not in Port Moresby. The client should contact the office and request a search through the respective oficer. The oficer will do the search and the client has to pay the search fee of K50.00 and furnish the receipt of the payment to the Registrar of Titles Office for the search details to be furnished to the client either through the mail or by fascimile.
We can provide you with copies of:
· Titles at a cost of K50.00 per title and
· Documents in the file at a cost of K2.00 per copy
