Special Projects Unit

The Special Projects Unit is assigned to take responsibility of managing all the Projects within the Department. This Unit also ensures that DL&PP completes projects on time, within budget and ensures objectives are achieved. The Unit further assists in monitoring provinces performances of Land administrative functions and whereby works towards devolving the functions to the provinces. Another important role that Special Projects Unit plays is to liaise with stakeholders to establish a working relationship to assist DL&PP where required.

The following are the types of services provided by the unit;

•  Land Reform Project : - A policy and legislative framework that reduces the need for State ownership of land, empowers landowners and encourages them willingly to participate in the development of their land.

•  Management of special projects: - Effective resolution of issues requiring a project approach .  

•  Devolution of the Provinces: - Empowering Provincial Governments to manage their land by the devolution of the Physical Planning, Land Administration and Customary Land Functions and Land Information Functions.
